Pupil Premium Grant (PPG)
The Pupil Premium Grant is funding given to schools to address inequality. At St. Joseph’s, the grant is used to help the most disadvantaged pupils to ensure they do not fall behind their peers in terms of attainment and broader life experiences.
At St. Joseph’s, the grant is spent in a variety of ways with the main objectives being:
- To close the gap in attainment for disadvantaged pupils compared to their peers
- To ensure that disadvantaged pupils make very good progress
- To ensure that all pupils are given the same opportunities to develop their potential and participate in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school
